When Kayla Was Kyle

Special guests, author Amy Fabrikant and illustrator Jennifer Levine, perform a puppet version of “When Kayla Was Kyle”, a picture book about a girl who used to be a boy.

In the introduction, children create a puppet named Heehoo, and then Heehoo performs as the country cousin in an improvisational parody of “The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse.”

Later on Heehoo and Amy have a conversation about being different.
