Author Tasha Paley loves every season, but when the autumn equinox danced into Bank Street Bookstore, she just had to come along. Tasha visited the Yippee Skippy Puppets to share her book “Whatever Weather Would I Have If I Could Rule the Weather?”. With help from the puppets and audience, Tasha spun her wonderful tale of the surprising delights brought about by changing weather patterns and pleasures.

Fractured Fables with Special Guest Benjamin Chaud
Author-Illustrator Benjamin Chaud joins the Yippee Skippy puppets for a bear of a time with a special Fractured Fables event. After a wolfish puppet retelling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Benjamin delights the audience with a drawing demo while Chelsea Camp reads his beautifully illustrated children’s book The Bear Song.
Benjamin Chaud has illustrated an impressive number of picture books, including the Pomelo The Garden Elephant series. He lives and works in Paris, France.

Hansel & Gretel: The Great Pachyderm Escape
Siblings Hansel and Gretel find themselves in quite a predicament when they are abandoned in the woods. They stumble upon a house made of delicious treats and the sweet old owner invites the starving children in. However, the darling granny turns out to be a witch who wants to make them her next meal. When the witch has an elephant-sized oven incident, Hansel and Gretel see their chance to escape.

Puppet Show Special with Laura Falzon
Music and mayhem combined beautifully when flautist Laura Falzon visited Bank Street Bookstore for a special Fractured Fables Puppet Show. Laura accompanied the wild puppet antics with her wonderful flute playing and did a mini flute-playing demo with the kids.
Jonathan Bean Presents “Big Snow” and The Frogherd Who Cried Wolf

Author and illustrator Jonathan Bean visits the Yippee Skippy Puppet Theater for a whole lot of winter fun! Jonathan gets some holiday gifts from Ninja Monkey and Mousey, reads his picture book “Big Snow” and creates a winter wonderland with help from the audience.
Meanwhile, a wily Frogherd makes false accusations against a wolf who definitely does not eat frogs. But what, or possibly whom, might the wolf eat instead?

When Kayla Was Kyle
Special guests, author Amy Fabrikant and illustrator Jennifer Levine, perform a puppet version of “When Kayla Was Kyle”, a picture book about a girl who used to be a boy.
In the introduction, children create a puppet named Heehoo, and then Heehoo performs as the country cousin in an improvisational parody of “The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse.”
Later on Heehoo and Amy have a conversation about being different.
